Toni Eberhart joined New Leaf Digital after ramping up her involvement as a volunteer at CoWorking Night. Prior to assuming her role as Executive Director, Toni supported technology startups and small businesses as a marketing professional with a passion for developing and executing strategic initiatives. She received a BSBA from the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. After graduation she worked in operations at the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD. In 2012 she relocated to Huntsville to support the U.S. Army 2nd Recruiting Brigade in public affairs. Since making it her adopted home, Toni has grown passionate about the evolution of a robust and dynamic innovation economy in Huntsville.


Dick Reeves

CHAIRMAN of the Board

Dick Reeves has been active in organizing entrepreneurial businesses since 1978, when he co-founded General Digital Industries, Inc., where he served variously as Chairman or CEO until its sale in 1989. He serves as Managing Partner of Angel Syndicates Central, which provides investment syndication services to angel groups in the southeastern US. He helped organize BizTech in 1997, served as its CEO from 2003-2008, and organized the Huntsville Angel Network in 2004. Today, Dick is CEO of The Foundry, a commercial software startup studio.


Harrison Diamond

Secretary of the Board

Harrison Diamond was appointed by Mayor Tommy Battle as the City's Business Relations Officer. He serves as liaison to the business community and the Mayor’s GEO, Cyber, Energy, and Broadband initiatives, including efforts to attract Google to Huntsville. Harrison previously worked in economic development at the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County, where he worked on projects for Remington and Boeing. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and University of Alabama in Huntsville.


Karen thomas

Board member

Karen Thomas is Founder and CEO of Agrin Health, a wellness-management startup. Prior to launching Agrin Health, Karen gained an array of experience over 20 years working in the clinical, payer, provider and technology vendor segments within the healthcare industry. She has held leadership positions with Emdeon, MedeAnalytics, Dell Services (formerly Perot Systems) and Magellan Health Services.

Karen studied at Harvard and Vanderbilt Universities earning an undergraduate in Neuroscience, Pre-Med and later an MBA in Healthcare Management. She is also co-founder of the entrepreneurship organizations FishBowl and Women Can Be Angels.


Trey Sharp

Board member

Trey Sharp has worked in the wireless communication business since 1994, taking over as CEO of Sharp Communication in 2006. In Trey’s time as CEO, Sharp pivoted away from cellular and paging and back into push-to-talk, increasing Sharp’s push-to-talk revenues by 300% and increasing overall company revenues by 50%. After co-founding Tango Tango in 2016, Trey took over as full-time Tango Tango CEO in March 2017.

Trey writes about entrepreneurship and self development on his blog at JABBED.Blog. He also serves on Huntsville, AL Mayor Tommy Battle's Council on Research and Technology and is one of 9 North American company executives on Motorola Solutions National Service Partner Advisory Council.



Board Member

Delmonize “Del” Smith is Dean of the College of Business and Public Affairs at Alabama A&M University. Dr. Smith has served in numerous roles including systems analyst in the U.S. Army, economic development commissioner, and director of Rochester Institute of Technology's Center for Urban Entrepreneurship. He maintains an active career as a cross-industry entrepreneur which began with a tech startup that later sold at age 25.

Dr. Smith received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Faulkner University, the Master of Science degree in management from Troy University, and the Ph.D. in management from the University of Alabama.  


Mike Murdock

Board Member

Mike Murdock cofounded Sirsi, which became the world's largest library management software company. Years later, Mike sold the company and has led a life of philanthropy ever since. In addition to serving on the board at New Leaf Digital, Mike is also the founder of Huntsville STEAM Works, a new hardware prototyping lab located at Lowe Mill.


Michael Carroll

Board member

Michael Carroll is an Electrical and Software Engineer who is interested in robotics, computer vision, and machine learning. After graduating from Auburn University in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and in 2012 with a Master's in Electrical Engineering, Michael spent a year in Massachusetts working for MIT's Lincoln Library before returning to Huntsville. He was part of the formation of both CoWorking Night and 3210 and remains a big proponent of Huntsville's burgeoning startup community.
